Summit Karakoram is an established, licensed (Pakistan Department of Tourist Services # 1152) outfitter/guide to major mountaineering expeditions in the Karakoram & Himalaya Range. Since its commence Summit Karakoram has provided support for successful attempts on K2, Nanga Parbat, Gasherbrum 1, Gasherbrum 2, Broad Peak, and numerous other peaks.
In addition to mountaineering support, Summit Karakoram provides trekking or hiking support, enabling our clients to view some of the most spectacular scenery in the Karakoram Range, including Concordia (from which no fewer than four 8,000 meter-plus peaks are visible), K2 Base Camp/Milky Memorial, and Gondogoro Pass. Summit Karakoram also offers treks toBroad Peak, Trango, Shipton Spire, Amin Brakk, and K7 Base Camps. We also support treks to Iqbal Top, a short (4-5 day) trek to a location I discovered in 1998 providing a panoramic view of the Karakoram Range.
Regardless of whether the goal is climbing K2 or a short trek to Iqbal Top, Summit Karakoram provides all necessary support, from pre-arrival permitting, meeting upon arrival at the airport in Islamabad, through to the airport on departure. All treks are provided with tents and ground-pads, (a) guide(s), cook, assistant cook, and porters. If requested, we also provide a dining tent and crockery. All equipment and personnel are scaled to meet the requirements of each trek, whatever the number of participants. We have provided support for treks ranging from one person to as many as 30, in which case we may provide as many as 3 or 4 guides to assure our clients’ safety and comfort.
